The Top 5 Sports Application Developers on Facebook

AppData, a new site launched by the head of product here at Watercooler, Justin Smith, is a fantastic place to get all sorts of interesting stats about Facebook applications. It’s an independent tracking tool and is definitely worth a look if you’re interested in Facebook applications. I just took another quick look and saw that Watercooler is ranked #12 out of all Facebook developers with 5.6 million monthly active users (MAUs). That’s pretty good, but I was even more impressed after diving down a little deeper specifically into sports applications where Watercooler/FanSection is ranked #1 by a mile…or maybe even two. Our FanSection suite of applications which includes over 600 sports and teams from around the world have a combined 3.3 million MAUs compared to distant second PageFad, developer of the Premier Football application, at just over 900K MAUs. That shows that we’re on to something here at Watercooler, and we’re looking forward to continuing to build on the success of the FanSection property.
