ticket sales on fansectionA few weeks ago, I wrote a post about how we’re starting to incorporate ticket sales into our FanSection sports communities to diversify our revenue streams beyond online advertising.  While working with individual professional teams will always figure prominently into our strategy, we’re also moving forward with ticket aggregator RazorGator to be able to offer tickets for almost all major sports in the US.  RazorGator has been in the news recently for raising a new round of venture debt, and we’re confident it’s the right partner for us.

While the official integration of tickets into FanSection applications is likely several weeks away, the NCAA tournmanent represented the perfect opportunity to get started.  So, we put together a quick but effective integration that allows users to purchase tickets to all NCAA tournment games across the country.  Below is a screenshot of how tickets are currently being promoted within FanSection applications.  Look for more complex integrations in the near future.
