We’re excited to announce the launch of our new tabbed RSS widget today. The widget is intended to enable blog partners to present their RSS feeds in widget form in a much more usable way. Bloguin, a sports-focused blog network, is our launch partner for the widget and you can get a good look at it in the wild at the TWolves Blog.
As you can see from the Bloguin website, the network encompasses sports blogs covering everything from baseball to hoops to football. As a result, presenting the new posts in a generic, catch-all RSS feed becomes problematic for users looking for specific subject matter. The tabbed approach segments blog posts by sports (or whatever category the network chooses) so that it’s much more reader-friendly. The blogs we’ve discussed distribution deals with so far are excited about the potential and we look forward to seeing how this performs.
If you’re interested in the tabbed RSS widget for your own blog or network of blogs, drop me an email and we can chat about the details. We’re still working out the revenue model for Watercooler and partners, and are happy to discuss options.
