The North Carolina Tar Heels, the largest college basketball fan community for FanSection, rolled over Michigan State on Monday night 89-72 to win the 2009 National Championship. Unfortunately for CBS, the blowout made the game the lowest rated final in ever.

Making the rounds of the blogosphere today are reports that CBS saw a 65% year over year increase in videos streamed for it’s March Madness On Demand service. As I posted earlier this week, we launched the FanSection Bracket Challenge application on Facebook and have seen the number of users grow substantially this week to almost 200,000. We anticipate those users continuing to grow significantly over the coming weeks building up to Selection Sunday on March 15.
